The ZKM | Center for Art and Media is a foundation under public law. As an institution engaged in research, art education, and continuing education it has the purpose of facilitating a comprehensive engagement with art and media technology.
The Institute for Music and Acoustics has a vacancy for an
artistic/scientific assistant in software development, to be filled at the earliest possible date.
This post is responsible for the realization of development projects in the areas of experimental music, music installation, databases, and interactive environments, with a particular emphasis on the continuation of the project Zirkonium and the support of compositional projects. Skills in multimedia programming, network environments, sound synthesis, spatial simulation, operating systems: iOS/Android, Unix/OS X/Linux, programming languages: Objective C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Max/MSP/Jitter, Pd, SuperCollider, OpenGL are required.
A capacity for teamwork, individual initiative, and an interest in interdisciplinary collaboration are requisite as much as a university degree conforming with the requirements together with experience in the areas of responsibility mentioned. In addition, we expect a good knowledge of the English language.
We offer an interesting and varied occupation in public service at one of the internationally leading cultural institutions in the area of media art. As a part of a young team of colleagues, the successful candidate can expect a good working atmosphere. The salary will be in correspondence with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the TVöD (collective agreement for the public service). The position is limited to 2 years.
